For Lunar Trek 2010 July 23, we hosted about 65 runners. Each year the number gets a llittle bigger. Hopefully we are doing a few things right.
Kansas Ultra Runners selected the Lunar Trek as their sponsored run for 2011. We would like so say thanks for the honor.
Many Photos and results are posted.
If you took photos at the 2010 run, please attach them to an email and send them to Jneal@pikevalley.com so we can display them. I know there are many runners who took pictures before and after the run. - Thanks
Gary Henry ran the 100K. . Gary graciouly allowed us to display his photos from 2008 and 2010. Thanks Gary.
Gary Henry hosts www.ultrastory.com and is a Trail Hawk.
100K cut-off times changed for 2011. See the rules section.
We had two runners in the 13 and under category this year - a father son team and a grand daughter and grand father team. We also had a young lady complete her first ultra. She had never done even a marathon and at LTNR she completed the 40 mile run. We had many couples running this year and once again we had a girls XC team compete in the 10K - way to go girls.

The Lunar Trek is on secondary gravel roads except for 3 miles of dirt and how likely is it to rain in the middle of July in Kansas. The course consists of some rolling hills, some decent ups and downs and a flat section along the Republican River. It will be an out-and-back with turnaround points for a 10K, 11-mile, 22-mile, 50K (31-miles), 40-mile, and 100K(62Miles)TREK!!
There will be staffed aid stations every five miles. They will have ice, water, sports dKinks, soda, and an assortment of food commonly found at aid stations. Drop bags for the 3 longer runs can be left at registration so they can be properly dispersed. Drop bags need to be clearly marked as to what aid stations they will go to, and to whom they belong.
Proceeds will benefit the Pike Valley Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams.
